My story

Meet Nutmeg – A Gentle Soul Ready for Her Forever Home! 🌰🐾 Nutmeg is a sweet and shy little girl who’s looking for a patient and loving family to help her blossom. This precious pup came to us from a home on the reservation where there were simply too many dogs. She arrived with her loving mom and sister. While Nutmeg may be the quieter of the two, she has a heart full of potential just waiting to shine with the right encouragement. Nutmeg is still a pup, and based on her petite mom (only 25 lbs!) and the other small dogs she came from, we expect her to stay on the smaller side. Our best guess at her breed mix includes Dachshund, Corgi, and Chihuahua—a quirky and adorable combo that makes her as unique as she is lovable. Nutmeg may take a little time to warm up, but once she feels safe, her gentle personality starts to emerge. She would thrive in a playful home with other dogs and kids who understand that sometimes the shyest pups grow up to be the most loyal and loving companions. Nutmeg enjoys playing fetch, following her humans around and sleeping on shoes. Our adoption fee helps cover expenses (vaccinations, microchips, spay/neuter, food, housing) for the homeless pets we rescue. UAF does not adopt or ship outside the state of Arizona. To ensure the best fit, UAF conducts a home visit to meet other pets and verify a safe, secure yard. If you have any questions or to adopt a dog an application must submitted.
