My story

Meet Sweet Tart — a mellow, affectionate, and easygoing sweetheart who’s ready to find a home of her own. She’s a relaxed, loving companion who enjoys keeping tabs on her people, taking walks, and curling up for snuggles. Her foster describes her as a very chill pup with a low energy level—she spends most of her day napping, following her family from room to room, and enjoying affection whenever it’s offered.Sweet Tart has met other dogs at the shelter and has been social and playful, including interacting politely with small breed dogs. In the home, she can get a bit excited when she sees other dogs on walks and may pull toward them, but she’s very food-motivated and is responding well to training and redirection. With continued guidance, she’s likely to keep making great progress.Sweet Tart walks well on a leash, is fully house-trained, and is very comfortable with the crate—even though she prefers to lounge freely in the house when her humans go out. She hasn’t had any accidents and now sleeps peacefully through the night.She’s also got a little quirk that makes her even more endearing: sometimes she’ll take her favorite stuffed toy—or even a stray sock—outside for a potty break. On cooler days, she loves to flop down in the grass and roll around happily. She brings so much quiet joy to her foster family with these sweet little habits.Sweet Tart is an easy, gentle dog who would thrive in a calm home where she can continue to be loved, pampered, and appreciated for the sweet companion she is. Sweet Tart qualifies for BARCS’ Love Lasts adoption promotion for animals 5 years or older, and her adoption fee is waived.Sweet Tart is currently in a foster home.
