My story

Meet Markus — a distinguished gentleman with just the right amount of wisdom in his eyes. He’s got more manners than your Aunt Betty’s dinner party: he knows sit, down, and how to make you fall in love with him in under five minutes.At the shelter this handsome boy walks beautifully on the leash, making him a perfect partner for slow, relaxing strolls. He takes treats very gently, and appears to be housetrained at the shelter.He recently spent some time in a volunteers home and we learned that Markus is housetrained, crate-trained, and has excellent manners — the kind of dog who’d ask before getting on your couch, then promptly fall asleep in your lap. He’s low-energy, low-maintenance, and a dream on leash. Think “casual neighborhood slow, sniff-filled stroll,” not “drag race through the park.” He’s the perfect combination of independent and loyal companion - so you can leave him alone and he won’t throw any wild parties-but he’ll happily report for snuggle duty when you return. He can still be timid outside the home when meeting new people but inside….. Strangers? Nope, just future friends he hasn’t kissed yet. He wagged his tail, doled out some smooches, happily received some pets, then politely supervised our snack situation.But don’t let his mellow vibe fool you — Markus is a certified cuddle pro. He’s affectionate, sweet, and gives the gentlest kisses to let you know he’s your number one fan.Lastly, this sweet senior has mastered the art of peaceful living. He settles quietly in his crate at bedtime without a fuss and sleeps through the night like a dream—not a single peep. Markus is the kind of soul who brings instant serenity to your home.Markus has met other dogs at the shelter and has shown himself to be gentle and tolerant, preferring to calmly coexist.
