My story

Name: Montana Age/DOB: 3/31/25Weight: 9 lbsFemale spayed Breed: Mountain Cur/small-medium mixed breed (possibly some chihuahua?) Hi, I’m Montana!I came from an overcrowded shelter in North Carolina, where I spent most of my early puppy days. Life in a shelter wasn’t the easiest, but now that I’m in a foster home, I’ve discovered just how amazing life with a family can be! I love all the cozy comforts—snuggling under blankets, curling up on the couch with my humans, and playing with my favorite stuffed animals. I’m a big fan of chasing balls and chewing on Benebones. Basically, I’m your classic "play hard, nap hard" kind of pup! I currently live with a big doggy foster brother, two cats, and a 4-year-old human. I love running around the backyard with the little one and giving out puppy kisses. I'm really sweet, playful, and I’m learning new things every day. Potty training is going great as long as I stay on a routine, and I’m even starting to learn how to walk on a leash. I feel super confident when I’m with my doggy buddy, but I’m still building my courage on solo walks. I would really love to have another dog in my forever home—someone to wrestle, chase, and learn from. I might be smaller than my foster brother, but I hold my own in playtime and keep up just fine! I live with cats in my foster home, and while I’m curious and sometimes want to chase, I'm working on learning that kitties prefer peace and quiet. My foster family is helping me understand their boundaries. At night, I sleep in my crate like a good girl—and as long as I can see you nearby, I’m usually quiet until morning. I’m still young and learning about the crate, but I’ve got a great start. I have a soft, beautiful coat and the cutest little black freckles around my nose.  But what really makes me special is my heart—I’m full of love, ready for adventure, and can’t wait to be someone’s loyal companion.
