My story

My name is Nathan and I’m looking for my forever home. I’m a 4 y.o. goofy and affectionate guy. I came to my foster home here in Joliet, IL, from the commercial breeding facility where I was born. I settled right into my new foster home. The treats helped (especially string cheese)! I learned pretty quickly that my favorite spot is right next to my foster mom on her big comfy couch, so she can give me scratches and neck rubs. There are other dogs here in my foster home and I get along well with them. We love to play outside in the fenced yard and I’m never aggressive over food, treats or toys. But if one of them is next to foster mom on the couch, I will nudge and budge my way in so I can be next to her. I haven’t met any cats or small pets yet and there are no small kids here, so I don’t know how I would do with them. I’m learning all kinds of new things here, like how to go for a walk on leash. Foster mom says that I’m doing a great job! I’m mostly potty trained. I’m a good boy in the house when foster mom has to go out. I say in my room and don’t make a fuss. I’m a healthy boy, neutered and vaccinated and I weigh 35 lbs. I’m shy around new people and skittish around loud noises or sudden movements. My perfect forever home would have another nice dog for me to play with. I’d love to have a fenced yard to run around in too. It would be great if my forever family is experienced with skittish dogs and they should be very careful around open doors or gates to guard against escapes.
