My story

Meet Gus – Your Gentle Giant! 🧡 Gus is a 2.5-year-old Mastiff with a big heart and an even bigger presence—he weighs in at around 100 lbs! This lovable boy walks beautifully on a leash (no pulling here!) and prefers to take life at a slow, lumbering pace, with the occasional burst of playful energy. He loves people and is incredibly food-motivated—he’s currently enjoying multiple meals a day to help him reach a healthy weight. Gus isn’t potty trained yet and will need a dedicated adopter familiar with Mastiff needs and training. He may do well with a calm dog companion, but we recommend a meet and greet to be sure it’s a good match. Ready to meet Gus? Adopting from High Country Humane means your new pet is spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped. We even register that microchip for you—for free! Every adoption also comes with a free health exam. Please bring a leash and collar when you come to adopt or plan to purchase a set at the shelter for $5 each. 📍 Visit us at 11665 N US Hwy 89, Flagstaff, AZ 🕚 Open daily from 11 AM – 5 PM Gus is waiting to meet his person—could it be you?

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Gus - Biggest Boy!, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
