My story

All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, shots current (DHPP, Bordetella and Rabies where applicable), dewormed, flea and tick treated, and microchipped.  * If you are interested in a dog, please first read the biography on the dog (keep scrolling down for the bio!) and then go to our website, www.dpsrescue.com for an application. Our adoption fees vary. Each biography will specifically list the adoption fee.Adoption fee: $750 Meet The Golden Snitch! Papillon Mix | 1 Year Old | 12 lbs   The Golden Snitch is the kind of dog who makes strangers feel like lifelong friends. Rescued from a shelter, he greeted his new world with a full-body wag, a bounce in his step, and a nose nuzzle for everyone willing to receive his affection. Just 12 lbs and full of charisma, Snitch is a social butterfly, a cuddle bug in training, and an endlessly entertaining sidekick.   When he first arrived at his foster home, Snitch was quiet and reserved— so much so that his foster wondered if he was actually a senior dog in disguise. But by Day 2, the puppy energy started to emerge: zooming around like his namesake, shoe chewing (oops! well, he IS still a puppy!), playfulness, and an irresistible desire to be part of everything.   Snitch wakes up around 7am ready to start the day with a short walk, breakfast, and a little toy time. He lounges contentedly when left alone for a few hours in the morning and then perks up for walks, attention, and cuddles throughout the afternoon. He gets about four walks a day, and while he enjoys a bit of fresh air, he’s not one for long-distance hikes— short strolls and social visits are more his speed. He can be stubborn when it comes to walking away from new human friends (social butterfly here!), sometimes requiring a treat bribe or a quick carry to move along.   Inside the house, Snitch likes to hang out on the rug with his toys or tuck himself under the cupboard for a cozy nap. He’s crate-trained and sleeps through the night, though he’d absolutely prefer to be in bed with his person. He’s not quite velcro, but he’s never far away—always curious, always watching, always ready for a cuddle. His cuddle style is best described as awkward but endearing; he can be a squirmy worm once he's ready to get down.   Snitch is a true people-dog. On walks, he greets every passerby like he’s been searching for them his whole life. Whether it’s a barista, a group of teens on a bench, or a neighbor walking their dog, Snitch makes time for an enthusiastic greeting— sitting politely, making strong eye contact, and then launching into his signature full-body tail wag and nose dive into their legs.   He’s a young pup, so he’ll chew on toys, shoes, hands, and even hair if given the chance. He needs someone who can help him navigate this stage with patience, structure, and a good supply of chew toys. He’s about 80 percent housetrained and improving every day with routine.   Snitch would thrive in a home with someone who's excited about training. He’s still very much a puppy, and while he’s independent enough to entertain himself, he does best when he feels included and loved. He could do well with another dog. If there are children in the home, they should be old enough to handle his energetic greetings and playful nips.   Snitch is smart, spunky, and full of personality. He’s learning about the world and needs a home that will guide him with kindness, help him grow into a confident adult dog, and return the endless love he gives so freely. He may be small, but the heart he brings into a home is enormous.   If you’re looking for a companion who will make you laugh, keep you company, and remind you every day how special you are— The Golden Snitch might just be your perfect match.          July 20, 2025, 8:22 pm
