My story

Meet Steel! Steel is a 2-year-old unaltered male who came to us as a stray from Somerset County. Since arriving, he’s captured everyone’s heart with his sweet nature and endless supply of love. Steel is an absolute water enthusiast—his favorite pastime is playing with the hose while our staff cleans. He’ll chase and chomp at the spraying water, tail wagging the whole time. Even filling up his water bowl turns into a game—he tries to catch the water mid-air before it even lands! And his favorite toy? A simple empty plastic water bottle. Forget the fancy stuff—Steel finds joy in life’s little pleasures. He also enjoys going on walks, though he’s a strong puller and would benefit from an owner who’s willing to work with him on leash manners. Steel is dog-selective, so if you have another pup at home, a meet-and-greet will be required to make sure it’s a good fit. Steel would thrive in an active home that can match his playful energy and continue to help him grow into the amazing dog he’s meant to be.
