My story

Meet Rufus – Our Gentle Giant Rufus is a 2-year-old unaltered male Great Dane who came to us as an owner surrender when his previous family could no longer afford his care. Now, this sweet boy is ready to find a forever home that will give him the love and stability he deserves. Despite his towering size, Rufus is convinced he’s a lap dog and absolutely lives for hugs and affection. He’s a gentle, loving soul with a big heart to match his big paws. Rufus can be a bit shy around new people—particularly men—so he may need a few meet-and-greets to truly warm up. But once he feels safe and comfortable, he transforms into a total love bug who just wants to be close to you. Rufus is scheduled to be neutered on July 21st. He is available for meet-and-greets now, but will not be able to go home until after his surgery. Please note: Our adoption applications are processed on a first come, first served basis.
