Meet Hero & Valor! They are 1yo livestock dogs (lab/great pyr mixes) who are not good with livestock. Or fences. To be fair, they're fine with most livestock. They just really, really don't like chickens. Or fences.Valor (the darker boy) has never met a fence that he couldn't climb. Even with coyote rollers. Funnily enough, he doesn't even GO anywhere, he just climbs it to prove that he can and then just...comes to find the nearest human. There's something almost weirdly graceful about watching him heave his entire 95lb body up the fence and then just land on his feet on the other side and trot away all nonchalant. He is the more outgoing out of the two. He's a certified silly goose that enjoys tummy brushes, meeting new people, and stealing snacks. Yeah, he'll steal an entire bag of snacks and then escape by climbing the fence to get away. Basically he's a criminal mastermind so good luck with that. Hero (the lighter boy) is a big ol' scaredy cat because what kind of 73lb dog isn't afraid of his own shadow? He's more inclined to run away than start, participate in, or finish any kind of altercation. He is a big baby that will require constant snuggles and to be talked to in that stupid baby voice that people (us) use with animals. You'll need to tell him he's the best boy approximately 87 times a day. He does not climb fences...yet. He still does not like chickens. We haven't seen any food aggression or resource guarding from either of them. We wouldn't place them with cats because of the whole chicken murderer thing. They seem uncertain of (but interested in) dogs that aren't each other but haven't outwardly displayed any aggression so we would prefer that they are the only dogs in the home unless it's a very, very experienced family with breed (or similar breed) experience. They do not have to go together (they're not bonded). Kids 12+. To apply, visit foreverpaws.com and click adopt to download our application.
