My story

Meet Teddy! Teddy is a 5-year-old male Chihuahua (born 9-8-19) who weighs 6 pounds. He came to us after his elderly owner moved into assisted living and could no longer care for him.Teddy may only have one eye (the other was removed due to an ulcer), but he doesn’t let that slow him down! He’s sweet, friendly, and loves to jump up and greet you. Teddy is housetrained and also uses pee pads. He enjoys quiet time, car rides, leisurely walks, and especially curling up in your lap. A fenced in yard would be ideal because this little guy is fast. Teddy is on a prescription diet and has a condition where his knee cap occasionally pops out of place in colder months. When it happens, he’ll briefly walk on his front paws until it readjusts on its own.He can be protective of his food and toys, sometimes growling or snapping, so we recommend a home with an adult household. We don’t yet know how he is with other dogs or cats, so a meet and greet with any resident dog is required.Teddy is part of our Foster-to-Adopt Program, which means you can foster him while he completes his vetting (vaccines and heartworm test).
