This 1 year old beauty (a mystery mutt who appears to be part Basset, with her low-rider body) gave birth to seven perfect puppies shortly after arriving, and was the most gentle, loving mama you could imagine. Now that her puppies are nearly ready to fly the nest, it’s Rosie’s turn to be spoiled and adored in a forever home of her own. Rosie is a sweet, mellow girl with a curious streak and a quietly silly personality. She wakes up around 7 a.m. ready to start her day, enjoys her meals at 7 and 6, and loves nothing more than lounging outside, rolling in the grass, and catching a breeze. She enjoys short walks and, once evening rolls around, she winds herself down and often puts herself to bed in her crate around 8 p.m.—no prompting needed. When Rosie first arrived at her foster home, she was gentle but understandably a little cautious— especially with new men. But she quickly grew attached to her people, forming sweet bonds and following them around the house like a quiet little shadow. She’s not exactly a lap dog, but she loves to be nearby and will happily settle in next to you, especially if there’s a cozy pillow involved. Speaking of pillows— Rosie loves them. In fact, one of her foster’s favorite quirks was how she would decide she loved a certain item (a pillow, a food bowl, even a stuffed animal) and gently move it to where she thought it belonged. Sometimes that meant dragging a pillow into the yard, or stashing a toy in her crate. Once, while in labor, she even gathered stuffed animals and brought them to her whelping box like little emotional support friends. Rosie gets along beautifully with other dogs, both big and small, and often cozied up with the resident pup in her foster home. She’s very gentle with kids and was totally unbothered by children holding and petting her puppies. She’s also been curious but respectful toward cats— she mostly just stares and moves on. While Rosie has her energetic moments (zoomies fans, rejoice), she’s a lounger at heart. She’s also quite smart, has good house manners, and is mostly housetrained—she’s had a few accidents, but gravitates toward a pee pad if left in the same space. She’s crate-trained, does fine when left alone, and generally keeps a calm, thoughtful presence in the home. She’ll bark at the door or unfamiliar noises but settles quickly once she knows what’s going on. Rosie would love a family who appreciates her intelligence, her quiet affection, and her low-key sense of humor. After giving everything she had to raise her babies, it’s finally Rosie’s turn to be loved and pampered. And trust us—whoever adopts her is getting an absolute gem. July 19, 2025, 8:25 pm
