My story

All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, shots current (DHPP, Bordetella and Rabies where applicable), dewormed, flea and tick treated, and microchipped.  * If you are interested in a dog, please first read the biography on the dog (keep scrolling down for the bio!) and then go to our website, www.dpsrescue.com for an application. Our adoption fees vary. Each biography will specifically list the adoption fee.Adoption fee: $650 Meet Vinyl, a 10-12 month old Basset (or maybe Dachshund?) mix with the ultimate low-rider look— short legs, long body, and the most adorable floppy ears you’ve ever seen! Weighing in at about 25 lbs, Vinyl was rescued from a Central Valley shelter where he bunked with his buddy Jukebox, and now he’s ready to find his forever home through DPS.   Vinyl is the definition of a Velcro dog—w herever you go, he wants to be right there with you. Whether you're lounging on the couch, working from home, or just moving from room to room, you’ll find Vinyl either following close behind or gazing at you with pure adoration. His greatest joy in life is simply being near his person.   When he’s not cuddled up at your side, Vinyl enjoys carrying around his favorite toys, often parading them proudly through the house. He’s crate trained but sleeps best when he knows you’re close by— he’s just that sweet.   Vinyl starts his mornings with a walk around 7–8 a.m., followed by breakfast— one of the few things that really gets him excited (besides you!). He happily shows up for mealtime and has made wonderful progress on his potty training.   This low-key guy also loves car rides and is happy to curl up and snooze while you drive. In his foster home, Vinyl coexists peacefully with another dog but is more about human companionship than canine play. On walks, he’s calm, polite, and doesn’t react to other dogs— just a mellow, loving pup through and through.   If you’re looking for a loyal, gentle shadow who will cherish every moment by your side, Vinyl is ready to make your heart his home.July 7, 2025, 12:01 pm
