Approximate Age:  11  years Approximate Weight:  7 pounds Currently Living at:  Foster Adoption Fee:  $300   DOG'S DESCRIPTION: Meet Your New Shadow (Whether You Like It or Not) Looking for a dog who will literally be by your side 24/7? Meet Romeo an 11-year-old poodle mix (probably… we think… maybe). He’s friendly, charming, and knows what he wants — and spoiler alert: what he wants is YOU. All the time. Everywhere. Forever. Things You Should Know Before Falling in Love: Velcro Level: Extreme. Bathroom trips alone? Forget it. Attention Policy: If he wants it and you’re not giving it, he’ll bark until you reconsider your life choices. Housing Requirements: Crates are a hard no. He’s not housetrained, so you’ll need to keep him on a strict potty schedule or embrace the fashion-forward look of belly bands. Personal Boundaries: If you try to do something he’s not a fan of… well, let’s just say he’s got teeth and he’s not afraid to use them. Management Style: Will happily run your household if you let him. Best Match: No kids (due to the occasional nip) and preferably a patient, dog-savvy human — bonus points if you’re a woman, because he’s a total ladies’ man. In Short: He’s opinionated, hilarious, and a little high-maintenance — but if you’re the right person, he’ll be your loyal, loving sidekick for life. Adoption fees cover basic vetting, spay/neuter surgery (for dogs over 6 months old), rabies, distemper/parvo vaccinations, treatment for worms, heartworm testing, monthly heartworm prevention and monthly flea/tick prevention (while the animal is in our care), and transport costs from high-kill shelter. Please note that on average, Hatton Animal Rescue spends significantly more on each dog than the adoption fee.
