Flame

My story

Flame is a gorgeous young adult male Flame Point mix who came in as part of our colony work on Salt Spring. Many of his siblings (there were 4 others from the colony), plus his mom (Smokey - mom of the Ice Cream litter) returned to the colony caretaker. But Flame was different. He quickly demonstrated that he was interested in being with people. Flame was adopted shortly after coming into our care and greatly enjoyed his new home on Galiano Island with his mom, his cat sister, and his human siblings. Unfortunately, a change in his adopter’s health led to Flame being returned to our rescue. Since his return, Flame has been quietly settling back into his foster home. It’s been a lot of change for this little guy in the last couple of months, and Flame needs to be given time to process all of the changes. We feel that Flame would do very well to be adopted into a home with another cat, as he very much enjoyed playing with his cat sister in his first adoptive home. Flame does very well with respectful children. We would be happy to place Flame as a foster to adopt placement, as we really want to ensure that he settles well into his new home. Flame has been neutered, microchipped, vaccinated (FVRCP and rabies), treated for fleas and parasites, and screened for FIV / FeLV. This gentle cat needs a loving and soft landing, with someone who will give him time to settle and patient reassurance. Flame's world has been turned upside down TWICE - first when he left his colony, and then when he left his first placement, where he was so nicely settled in.
