My story

My foster writes: Meowmeowcita arrived at the shelter with her mate and four young kittens, and we know she must have been the most patient and loving mama, because she's just as sweet as she can be. Talk to her gently, and she'll offer you slow blinks of affection in return. Offer to pet her, and she'll immediately begin purring and making biscuits. Don't worry about testing her patience - Meowmeowcita will let you pet her from head to tail without ever getting upset. She must have modeled such good manners for her kittens, too, because Meowmeowcita is a super-polite house guest. She keeps her litter box tidy, resists jumping on kitchen counters, and even puts her toys away when they're not in use (granted, in some hidden spot you'll probably never find). Need some sleep? Just make sure Meowmeowcita has kibble in her bowl and a window for bird-watching, and she'll wait patiently for your alarm. You may even find her resting at your feet when you wake up.As an empty nester, Meowmeowcita has packed her days with long, luxurious naps, and short, hilarious bursts of energy that remind you she's just a baby herself. She's practicing a lot of self-care, too - happily stretching out for brushing and nail trims. All she needs now is a quiet, loving home with people who are happy to spoil her. She's earned it!A volunteer writes:Young MeowMeowCita has been with us for a while now. She nursed her brood under our roof until they became independent and found a home...She had a whole family, including a partner who was already adopted. One wonders about all the feelings she might have gone through...MeowMeowCita is a shy and a bit unsure kitty. She is curious about what is going on around her and is not in hiding. She likes to be treated with tuna, squeeze ups and special foods. She wants to be "friends" but is a bit unsure about being petted. It must be tough to have done for a while a selfless job(a lactating mom), being sheltered in the quietest place of the shelter and suddenly be "propelled' in the hustle and bustle of adoption... I'd say:MeowMeowCita needs a home, a quiet place where she will be the princess of the house, a beloved pet who will be spoiled by her new family and will let out all the love she has inside. Come and meet MeowMeowCita at the Manhattan Care Center.Meowmeowcita was nursing her kittens, lying calmly with a relaxed face, and accepted all petting while eating squeeze up treats. She flinched slightly when first approached but otherwise remain calm and continued to allow all petting throughout. Primary Color: Gray Tabby Weight: 8.86 Age: 2yrs 7mths 3wks
