My story

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Well, the time is here, our sweet Louise, aka Lu or Lulu, has been cleared for adoption and is ready to find her forever home. Louise is a small Boston terrier who was found wandering the streets of Texas. She was skinny and frail at the time. Finding a home for a senior in Texas is often difficult and almost impossible, so here she is, and we know someone in the area will absolutely love her, I mean, seriously, look at that face, of course, some will love her. We certainly do! Louise is estimated to be between 8-10 years old and weighs 14 pounds.     Louise has quickly become a foster favorite. She is thriving in her foster home and has put on weight. Although she is still a little thin and needs to gain 1-2 more pounds we feel it would be better to allow her to bond with her forever family. There is no doubt that Lu once had a family. She appears to be housebroken, although accidents are expected at first. She loves to go for walks and is excellent in the car. Lou is a social butterfly and adores people. She gets along well with other dogs, but does not need another dog. Also, she’s not a barker. In fact, we don’t think we have ever heard her bark yet! Although in her foster home, she gets anything she wants. One look into her soulful eyes, and we melt. We just can’t say no.    Lulu wants what every senior dog would want. She wants to eat good food, lay around on the couch, and sun her self outside. Lou does have bad knees, a grade 6 out of 6 luxating patella, which prevent her from jumping on the couch. But she will tell you what she wants. Lulu has a way of staring at you so intently that there is no doubt what she wants, and you will give it to her, or the staring just gets deeper and deeper into your soul! Yes, she will get the zoomies and play with toys here and there, but really, it’s all about her people and being as close as possible to them.    We recently had her to our local vet who ran some blood work. According to him, Lou has the bloodwork of a 2 year old! Absolutely perfect! Her teeth look amazing as well. The only thing we could not determine is whether she is spayed or not. The only way to tell for certain is to cut her open and see. We have decided that is not in Louise’s best interest considering her age. Instead, we will wait and see if she goes into heat. If so we will gladly cover the cost of a spay through our vet. Otherwise Louise is fully vetted and is heartworm negative. She is also on a 12 month prevention so you won’t have to worry about that again until next year.    We will all be sad to see Louise leave, but we know Louise deserves a home where she will be pampered like she deserves. If you are interested in Louise make sure you apply today. She is ready to give you all the love, as long as you provide the snacks!  Louise's adoption fee is $400 to help with her to help with her vet costs.   Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.July 17, 2025, 11:03 am
