My story

🐾 Meet Tom – A Loyal Gentleman with a Quiet Heart 🐾 Tom is a 2-year-old FIV+ kitty who was found as a stray, but it’s clear he’s always been a gentle soul at heart. Calm, observant, and quietly affectionate, Tom loves watching the world go by from a window perch and being near the people he trusts. He’s a little shy at first, but once he feels safe, he comes looking for affection — and rewards you with a big, steady purr. While he might not settle directly in your lap, he loves to snuggle up right next to you, close enough to feel the comfort of your presence. He’s polite, too — if something makes him uncomfortable, he’ll give a clear but harmless signal to let you know he needs a break. Tom enjoys cat trees, scratching posts, his meals, and a calm environment. He would do best in a quiet home without children or dogs, and could be adopted either as a solo cat or with another low-energy, FIV+ feline companion. Tom has tested positive for FIV, but FIV-positive cats can live long and healthy lives without needing medication. Our adoption counselors have plenty of information on FIV and can assure you that Tom has many good years ahead of him. If you’re looking for a calm, loyal cat to share peaceful moments and quiet companionship, Tom is ready to find his forever home. As we are closed to the public, adoptions are by appointment only. If you have an interest in meeting Tom, please fill out our online adoption application (https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/MWHS/Cat). We will review all applications and make appointments for those applicants we feel would provide a good and loving home for Tom.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Tom (FIV+), please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
