Bo

My story

Bo is a presumed Lab/Pyrenees mixed breed puppy. This sweet and sensitive boy was pulled from a situation with an owner who wanted him dead or gone. Shy and unsure at first, Bo and his sister Daisy have blossomed into puppies who enjoy making new friends, playing, and interacting with the world around them. Now that they no longer have to worry about scrounging up food in the nearest garbage can, they've found out how much fun just being a puppy can be. Bo is a fairly restrained and chill young pup. He draws a lot of confidence from being around other dogs, but one-on-one he's a perfect gentleman. His interactions with very young children and toddlers have been shockingly polite, and we think he'd be an amazing family dog. While friendly, he's not overly pushy or jumpy. Of course, all this changes when he's outside, romping with his sister or with kennel staff. He's a big fan of plushy toys, and he's willing to think and work very hard for treats (meaning he's going to enjoy training sessions a lot). With his open and endearing nature, Bo faces every day with excitement and joy. He's come so far already, and we can't wait to see what an awesome dog he will become once he gets to go to his forever home. Whether bouncing around with his sister, following treat lures, making new friends with prospective adopters, or playing with toys in the office, Bo has captured our hearts with his sweet face, derpy mlems, and loving nature.Bo was briefly adopted but unfortunately we discovered that he is not cat friendly, so he had to come back to the shelter. We are very sad that his adoption did not work out, but we are relieved to know more about him. In his short time in a home, our beliefs that Bo is a very mature puppy were confirmed. He walked nicely on his leash, was super cuddly, velcro-style, worked hard on his house-training, and was overall "perfect." His adopters were heartbroken bringing him back and shared that his only complaint was that he does not want to get along with cats. If you have a cat-free household, we are certain Bo would thrive - he is kid friendly, dog friendly, full of love, low-energy and low-maintenance.
