Meet Amber – A Little Dog with a Big HeartAmber is a 1.5-year-old Chihuahua/Jack Russell mix who was surrendered when her dad could no longer care for her. She’s a petite girl with a cautious nature—but once she knows you, she becomes a playful companion and a total lap dog.Amber hasn’t lived with children before, but she tolerates them and may enjoy playing with older kids or teens who respect her space. She’s afraid of thunderstorms and loud noises, and can be shy around strangers, but she’s never been aggressive. She may guard her food or toys, so she’d do best in a home that understands boundaries and takes things slow.She’s never lived with other dogs and can be intimidated by larger ones. She hasn’t been around cats, but we suspect she may want to chase them. Amber loves going for walks and short runs, and enjoys time in a fenced yard. Her favorite toys include ropes and squeaky things she can proudly carry around.Amber just needs someone patient and kind who will help her feel safe and loved.
