My story

Meet Shep, a middle-aged guesstimated 6-year-old beagle who has been both sweet and gentle since coming to the shelter as a stray. Shep is very fearful and not confident when it comes to making new human friends, so is looking for a calm and patient family to help guide him and help him blossom. He prefers to observe first before gathering his bravery to army crawl for investigating. Shep is still learning his basic manners and life skills, but he’s ready to soak up all the guidance and love he can get. Beagles are notoriously stubborn when it comes to training, so finding a family savvy to the beagle quirks would be an extra bonus! Shep may be best with older and dog savvy kids, that can understand his nervous nature and need for time to warm up. He may LOVE having an easy-going dog friend to take confidence from and help him learn normal social skills. If you’re looking for a handsome beagle companion, Shep is waiting to meet you!
