My story

LUCY  is a fun, playful, sociable puppy who is about 4.5 months old.  She just returned from a two week family road trip and she is a certified road warrior.  She traveled beautifully, although like most children, she would probably have enjoyed having a few toys to occupy her time.  She is quite fond of mini carrots.  She loves to play in her little wading pool. She has an average energy level, kennels well, enjoys her treats and most of all, loves to play with other similar sized or larger young dogs.  She loves to play chase with other dogs and she is also a wrestle and gnaw on each other kind of player. Check out the videos. She knows how to beat the heat. If you do lake stuff, just imagine the fun. Lucy, along with her 4 siblings, was surrendered to pup because the family wanted them to have a good home and felt they were unable to find suitable adopters. The owner reported the pups were born in early March. We believe that Lucy will likely weigh 40# when full grown. Lucy has webbed toes like a lab, a tail diamond like a shepherd and the coloring of a boxer. She comes by all that quite reasonably. We did DNA testing on one of her siblings and the results came back with 14 breeds with 24% German Shepherd, 16% Australian Cattle dog and the rest Border Collie, Australian Shepherd, American Bulldog, Pembroke Welsh Corgi, Siberian Husky, Miniature American Shepherd, Pit bull terrier, Chow, Lab, Malamute, Boxer and White Swiss Shepherd: Also Known As a mixed breed! Lucy is working on house breaking but she isn’t quite there yet. She goes to the door and looks at it intently and sometimes whines. You do have to answer her call. In her foster home she is being crated while the foster mom is at work and at night. She keeps her crate clean. Housebreaking is progressing nicely. She is very playful and is best paired with same size or larger dogs. The early months are when puppy learns the social skills needed to be a skilled dog in dealing with other dogs and a good citizen in the human world. Adopters should be committed to getting puppy into lots of new and different human social situations, hearing vacuums, trucks, and rattling garbage cans, meeting people who are clapping, laughing, with hats, tools, bikes and skate boards. AND puppy needs many opportunities to meet and greet dogs of all shapes, sizes and dispositions. Just sharing a home with another dog is not as much doggie socializing as puppy needs. If good canine social skills are not learned and maintained during these early months, it will be very difficult to ever master. Puppy play dates, trips to the pet store, puppy socialization classes and later, obedience classes are particularly important. If all this doggie time sounds like a good idea, you are up for a puppy! As always, a tired dog is a good dog. Lucy has been vet checked, vaccinated including rabies and was de-wormed. We do place puppies outside the metro area if a firm plan for the alter surgery is in place; we do not ship. Her required alter surgery is covered by the adoption fee if it is done at 6 months at the PUP clinic. We require that she be altered at 6 months. If you are at least 21 years old and everyone in your household is on board with adopting a puppy, CALL 651-645-4370 between 7:00 am and 9:30 pm and we will return your call within 24 hours. If you elect to contact us via e-mail it may take several weeks for us to get back to you. Renters must provide proof that you are allowed to have a puppy. If you currently have a companion dog or cat please be prepared to provide a vet reference prior to adoption if requested.
