My story

Meet Kelly, a sweet 2-year-old lab mix who may be small in size but has a heart that`s as big as they come! She was found wandering Rink Hill Rd in Troutman alongside two other dogs, and thanks to a kind soul, she was brought to safety at our shelter.At just the size of a beagle, Kelly resembles a miniature Labrador, and who could resist that adorable face? However, upon her arrival, our dedicated staff noticed that she had hair loss and scabs. After a thorough examination by our veterinary team, it was confirmed that she was dealing with demodex, which had led to a secondary skin infection. **Don`t let that deter you from meeting this sweet girl!** Demodex is a non-contagious skin mite, meaning she can`t pass it on to your other pets or even humans. The good news? It`s treatable! We`ve already started her on the road to recovery with medications and a soothing medicated bath performed by one of our amazing volunteers, Bill.We know that Kelly might not look her best right now, but we`re all excited for her spectacular glow-up ahead! This friendly girl has a gentle soul and loves to speak up for tasty treats, taking them ever so gently from your hand.
