My story

Say hi to Artemis, our beloved longest-stay resident, who has been patiently waiting for his forever home for 78 days. Despite his time at the shelter, he hasn’t lost his spirit and is still holding out hope for a loving family to come and free him from shelter life.Artemis recently enjoyed a weekend getaway, where he finally got to stretch his legs and feel the warmth of love and affection. He’s an expert at couch cuddles and will happily snuggle up on your lap, making it nearly impossible for you to resist his charm! While he’s friendly with other dogs and has enjoyed some playtime, Artemis is more comfortable with gentle, calm pups who won’t crowd him. While he was in foster care, we discovered that he is not fond of cats and tends to become vocal when he sees them. Additionally, he had a few accidents and may need some help with potty training, but he’s excellent in his crate and a smart pup who is eager to learn.Artemis has a soft spot for squishy, crinkly toys, and his joyful personality will bring so much warmth to a loving home. All he needs is a patient and caring family to help him transition from shelter life and discover his true potential. If you think you could be the loving family Artemis has been waiting for, he would be thrilled to meet you at the shelter! And here’s the best part—his adoption FEE is WAIVED, plus he comes with two FREE in-person training sessions from Highland K9 to help him adjust into his new home.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt ARTEMIS, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
