Tessa

My story

This little pup was running along a very busy roadway following her mother and was literally moments from being killed as the rescuer scooped her up and along with her little brother, Hoss (now adopted). We were unable to capture the mother, but are happy to report that about 10 days later we not only got mom, but two more puppies and everyone is doing well!We believe that little Tessa is a terrier / Dachshund mix. She has Dachshund markings and a couple of the pups have shorter legs, but Tessa did not get the Dachshund legs, and will be taller. Tessa's coat is fuzzy at present, but we are not sure if that will last. One of the pups has a very slick coat. We do know that mom weighs almost 20 pounds and we expect these babies to remain fairly small when grown. Tessa has had two of her puppy shots, been wormed and is on flea, tick and heartworm preventative. (All babies were loaded with ticks when found). But those days are LONG GONE! Tessa will receive more vetting as she ages, including another puppy shot, her spay, microchip and rabies shot and more. OOTW will work with the adoptive family to make all of this happen! :)When Tessa arrived in rescue, she was very shy, but it only took a few days for her personality to blossom and she is now what we would call, "large and in charge!"
