KNOWN LIKES: kisses, people, dogs, cuddler- KNOWN DISLIKES: ABOUT THIS ANIMAL: Tony is a soulful 2-year-old hound with the sweetest eyes and an even sweeter heart. Weighing about 50 pounds, Tony has been through more than his share — he ended up in a high-kill shelter after likely being abandoned when he didn’t make the cut as a hunting dog. But despite it all, Tony has remained gentle, loving, and quietly hopeful for a second chance. Tony is: ✅ Great with other dogs – friendly, respectful, and easy to have around ✅ Housetrained – no messes, no stress ✅ Loves people – affectionate ✅ Quiet and easygoing – no excessive barking, just peaceful companionship This boy has a calm presence and a heart full of love. He’s happy to curl up beside you after a walk or just relax and soak up the peace of home life — something he’s been missing for far too long. Tony doesn’t need much — just a safe place, a soft bed, and someone to love him. After surviving the odds at a crowded shelter, he’s ready for a fresh start. His foster says the following: He is a sweet, not aggressive dog who defers to other dogs and plays well. He loves a stuffy toy! He comes when called, is affectionate and is happy to be petted. He is learning to live in a house with new noises and smells and rules. He listens well and knows “no” and walks well on a leash after some initial excitement. He has a funny personality with a small vocal moan when he is ready to go to sleep! He grins and has a cute way of sitting with a paw lifted up like he is waiting for someone to shake his paw!! He goes into his crate and doesn’t cry or bark. He loves running and exploring the woods (in a fenced yard) and comes back to the door once he has finished roaming. Smart boy!!
