Heinz

My story

Meet Heinz! He is a 3 yr old neutered male Great Dane/Lab Retriever mix that weighs 76lbs. He came into the Mesquite Animal Shelter on 7/12 as a stray. He appears to have been well cared for with a shiny black coat, as well as he knows the sit and paw command. Yet his owners have not come to reclaim him. He has a few speckles of white hair around his face which adds to his character. Typical of the breed he thinks he is a size of a puppy and wants to sit in your lap. If sitting on the floor he will roll onto the dog bed right next to you and show you his tummy for rubs. He loves to be petted and will stand right next to you to receive them. He takes treats gently but will pull on a leash so additional training would be needed. Walking past the other dogs that were barking at him he showed no interest in them and would stand and wag his tail. We do ask if there`s another dog in the home please be sure to ask the shelter for a dog test. Heinz would make a great companion where he would have a secured yard to run and play in but living doors and cuddle close for taking long snoozes on his own dog bed. Please come spend some time with him.
