Aveeno (Hank)

My story

Meet Aveeno—also known as Hank in his foster home! This gentleman is the perfect blend of smart, sweet, and snuggly. With his soulful eyes and calm presence, Hank is the kind of dog who quietly works his way into your heart—and stays there.Hank thrives on routine and structure. His days follow a steady rhythm: morning, midday, and evening walks paired with short training sessions and playtime. He loves learning new things, and his foster has built a daily routine that includes regular training (which he enjoys almost as much as his meals!). He’s already mastered several commands—sit, down, stay, heel, come, leave it, drop it, and more. He’s highly food motivated, eager to please, and enjoys the mental challenge of training.Now that he’s settled into his foster home, Hank has been slowly and successfully introduced to the resident dogs. He has integrated with them seamlessly and can nap comfortably near them and walk side by side without issue. He is, however, very interested in the cats and has attempted to chase them. His foster is working on redirecting that behavior with positive reinforcement, and while he hasn’t shown any signs of reactivity, he would likely do best in a cat-free home or with continued supervision and training around small animals.Hank is house-trained, well-mannered indoors, and a champ in his crate—quiet, relaxed, and happy to settle when it’s time to rest. He’s a devoted companion who simply wants to be near his person, whether that means lounging at your feet or curling up next to you on the couch. His energy level is moderate; he gets bursts of excitement during training and playtime (he loves tug and fetch!) but is generally calm and quiet inside.He’s working to contain his excitement with the help of his foster and has been doing well with structure and consistent redirection, he’s improving every day. He responds very well to praise and he is eager to please his people!Hank would do well in a calm home with someone who appreciates routine, enjoys walks, and is looking for a loyal shadow who’s always close by.
