My story

Say hello to Satu! Satu is a big, beautiful Malamute—about 100 pounds of fluff, charm, and strong opinions about air conditioning. She’s looking for a home that can appreciate her majestic coat and the upkeep that comes with it. Daily brushing is a must, and she expects to be admired while you do it. Think of it as bonding time with your very own snow queen. This girl is built for cold weather, so in the warmer months, she’ll need to stay cool inside where the AC is pumping. When the weather (or her coat) keeps her indoors, Satu still needs her brain engaged! Puzzle toys, frozen Kongs, scent work, or a little training will help keep her happy and balanced. Satu would do best as the only dog in the home—especially since she’ll need plenty of time, care, and one-on-one attention to meet her higher maintenance needs. From what we've seen here, Satu does not enjoy the company of other dogs and prefers to have her space and people all to herself. Because of her size and strength, we recommend a home with older children who can comfortably handle her big, elegant personality. That said, she could also do well with younger kids—as long as they’re sturdy and respectful. Malamutes like Satu aren’t for everyone—they’re smart, independent, and require consistent grooming, exercise, and structure. But if you’re ready to meet her needs, you’ll get a loyal, loving companion who will turn heads everywhere you go.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Satu, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
