Meet Maximus – A Gentle Pup with a Heart Full of PotentialMaximus is a sweet, sensitive boy who’s ready to start fresh with a family that will give him the love, patience, and structure he deserves. Though he may be shy at first, he truly wants to connect—he just needs a little time and a calm environment to feel safe. Once he begins to trust, he becomes more social and will even ask for affection in his own quiet, endearing way.Maximus is crate-trained, knows how to sit (especially when asked gently), and takes treats with a soft mouth. He’s especially fond of cheese and enrichment time, and while toys are a bit overwhelming for him right now, that may change as he settles into a home. He’s a great candidate for sniff walks, puzzle feeders, and low-key adventures that build confidence at his pace. With structure and encouragement, Maximus is sure to flourish.He lived previously with kids (7+) and could do well in a home with children 5 and up who understand gentle boundaries. While he’s been calm around cats and other animals here, he may have chasing instincts at home, so careful introductions are important. He would thrive with a family committed to routine, consistency, and positive reinforcement—bonus points for those open to training classes or doggie daycare to help him grow!Maximus will do best in a quieter but active home where he won’t be left outdoors unattended. He’s not the kind of dog who seeks out the spotlight, but with time and care, he’ll become a loyal and loving companion.
