My story

Don’t let the name fool you—Spider isn’t exactly graceful. In fact, he’s about as coordinated as a wet sock. With his adorable crossed eyes and a tendency to misjudge literally every jump, Spider is more “oops” than “arachnid.” But what he lacks in agility, he more than makes up for in charm, purrs, and accidental comedy. This little tabby tornado loves chasing his tail (and losing), ambushing shadows (and missing), and pouncing on toys (or at least trying to). He's got the heart of a lion and the depth perception of a potato. In short, he’s perfect. Spider was rescued as part of our ongoing efforts to support communities affected by the recent Central Texas flooding. With local shelters overwhelmed, many already at capacity before the storms hit, we stepped in to help reduce overcrowding. By bringing animals like Spider into our program, we helped free up critical space so that pets displaced by floods could be held safely and reunited with their families. Now Spider is ready to start his own chapter with a human who appreciates his unique talents and questionable aim.
