My story

Meet Peaches! A serene twelve-year-old Domestic Short Hair currently living in Newark, CA, whose essence is quiet grace wrapped in a soft orange buff coat with charming white accents. Peaches is the epitome of calm companionship. She carries the gentle wisdom of her years, preferring cozy naps in sunlit corners or curling up on a warm bed near her favorite human at night. During the day, she’s an independent spirit, content to lounge peacefully in her own space, only wandering over to check in and collect her well-earned head rubs. While she isn’t a lap cat, she adores sitting at your feet like a loyal little lioness, enjoying your presence without demanding your constant attention. One of Peaches’ cutest quirks is how she sometimes sits with the tip of her tongue poking out, as if she’s lost in dreamy thought! And if you’re lucky, you’ll catch her lying on her tummy with her back legs stretched completely straight behind her – a pose that makes her look like a relaxed little pancake. She’s never been very interested in toys or active play, instead choosing to nap, observe, and snack leisurely throughout her day. At 13 pounds, Peaches would benefit from a structured feeding routine to help her maintain a healthy weight, something her future family can easily support in a calm, quiet home where she can relax without interruption. While she has lived with another cat for over a decade, they simply tolerate each other, so Peaches would thrive as the only feline queen of her domain, with plenty of peaceful napping spots all to herself. Peaches is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on her vaccinations. She needs a mellow, loving family who will appreciate her gentle presence and give her the time and space she craves to settle into her golden years with dignity, warmth, and respect. Can you picture this beautiful orange lady resting at your feet as you read or work, offering quiet companionship and the occasional adorable tongue poke to brighten your day? Reach out to adopt@joyfulpets.com to welcome Peaches into your loving home and let her calm spirit fill your life with peaceful joy!

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Peaches, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
