My story

This animal was rescued as part of our ongoing efforts to support communities affected by the recent Central Texas flooding. With local shelters overwhelmed -- many already at capacity before the storms hit -- we stepped in to help reduce overcrowding. By bringing animals like this one into our program, we helped free up critical space so that pets displaced by floods could be held safely and reunited with their families. "People let me tell you 'bout my best friend He's the one boy cuddle toy, my up, my down, my pride and joy." This 1970's TV theme song could have been written especially for Ralph the German Shephard mix. Adopt sweet Ralph and add companionship and happiness to your life. In fact just one look at this pooch's friendly grin and waging tail is bound to raise your spirits. Need a dose of unconditional love? Stroke Ralph's soft belly, look into his sparkling unique eyes, one brown and one blue, before cuddling on the couch with him for a TV marathon. Yes he can be your loyal best friend, happy to hang out with you.   Of course friends also go places together. Need exercise? No problem. Ralph is great on a leash and is always up for a walk, hike, trip to the dog park, or even a camp out. He's gentle enough to do well living with other dogs and with children. As for fetch, did someone say FETCH? That's this playful pup's favorite game! But what Ralph really needs to be happy is access to people. He'd rather lie next to his human than in the comfort of his dog bed. Luckily, having Ralph around is easy. He's a loving, smart pooch who'll sit, shake and lay down for treats, which he accepts gently. Ralph is also housetrained and is working on his crate training. This cutie would be a great family dog, single person pet, or could even join a farm full of animals. A fenced in back yard and another dog to play with would be ideal for Ralph, although regular walks, or proximity to a dog park would work as well. So if you're the kind of person who knows that life is better with a wagging tail by your side, choose the well-trained, loving pup whose got it all goin' on -- Ralph!
