My story

Beautiful sweet Meg is available for foster or adoption. She is in Georgia, but is coming to Illinois! Left behind… but not broken. Meg’s story could have ended when she was found tied to a pole—neck and back injured, abandoned by the only family she knew. But this 1-year-old white Lab girl had something stronger than pain: resilience. Today, Meg is fully healed. Her body is strong. And her heart? Still wide open. She weighs about 40 lbs, is spayed, vaccinated, heartworm negative, potty trained, crate trained, and friendly with other dogs (though not yet cat-tested). She walks beautifully on a leash and is the kind of dog who will gently climb into your lap just to listen to your voice. Her eyes say, "I’m safe now, right?"—and her tail says, "Let’s live life together." She LOVES water—splashing, swimming, playing. If you’re into water sports or just love being near a lake or pool, she’ll be your sidekick in every ripple. With medium energy, Meg is playful but not overwhelming. She’s affectionate, loyal, and incredibly loving. She’ll follow you from room to room, never letting you feel alone. She’d love a dog friend, but she’s just as happy being your one and only. She’s looking for a foster or adopter who will give her what she’s never had: a safe, forever home filled with love—not fear. She’s proof that love can survive the worst.
