My story

NOTE: HOLLY IS ALONE IN A BACKYARD IN CLEARLAKE, CA. SHE IS BEING FED AND PROVIDED WATER, BUT THAT'S ALL. GSRSV HAS NOT MET HOLLY. WE ARE LISTING HER ALONG WITH OUR OWN DOGS ON THIS WEBSITE TO GIVE HER MORE ADOPTION EXPOSURE. PLEASE SEE END OF THIS PROFILE FOR CONTACT INFO. "Holly" is a sweet, senior spayed female GSD who is now living alone in a backyard as her person had to be relocated to a nursing facility and is not expected to survive. An acquaintance of Holly's person is going to the house (how often I don't know) to feed Holly and make sure she has water. That is the extent of Holly's interaction with people right now. Holly was living with another German Shepherd, but that dog flew the coop and is now AWOL. A man named Robert--also an acquaintance of Holly's person--alerted me to Holly's plight and recently visited her. Robert tells me that Holly is a gentle, well-behaved dog and loves attention. He also reports that Holly is "really dirty and sad." (I can see some pretty severe fly strike on her ear tips from the photo here.) Holly is fully vaccinated as well as spayed. Her vaccination record indicates she is 12 1/2 yrs old. I don't know how much longer Holly can remain at her person's house w/out anybody living there. A shelter would be a death sentence for her. If nobody steps up to take in Holly, I will do so. However, I'm presently caring for 20 dogs and this is not the calm, quiet environment that is appropriate for a 12 1/2-yo GSD.
