Onyx

My story

Just as her name suggests, Onyx is sleek black and a gem of a cat. She is a petite kitty who radiates happiness, adores being with her people and will even become your bedtime buddy. We don't know if she hogs the blanket. Onyx can't get enough petting and will stay in your arms when you pick her up. Her favorite past times include exploring that all-time favorite, the box, pouncing on toys, watching TV and getting brushed. She came to Dakin with her sisters Diamond Girl and Ruby Rose. Onyx and Ruby Rose and the outgoing ones and Diamond Girl is the shy one. They complement each other. If you're interested in adopting multiple kitties you can enjoy the special personalities that each one brings to the table. Ready to Adopt? You have two options: #1- VISIT IN PERSON Come during our open adoption hours: Tuesday - Saturday,12:30 - 3:00pm. You’ll be able to meet available cats in the shelter. (Cats in foster care are not available for in-person visits.) #2- ADOPT REMOTELY OR PLACE A 24-HOUR HOLD** If you’re ready to adopt without meeting the cat first, or you’d like to place a non-refundable $25 hold to reserve a cat for 24 hours, just call or email us: (413) 781-4000 x 1 springfield@dakinhumane.org. We are often helping other clients when you call, but we return voicemails and emails within 24 hours. **Holds are not available on Saturdays and during adoption events. -------------------------------------------- All cat adoption fees include; -spay/neuter -rabies vaccine -current distemper vaccines (may need additional boosters with your veterinarian) -FeLV/FIV blood test -microchip implanted & registered to the adopter -treatment of fleas/ticks/ear mites -veterinary exam and health certificate at Dakin -free vet exam within 30 days after adoption with participating veterinarians Most pets have also received other medical care while with us. Your veterinarian may recommend additional health care for your new pet.
