My story

Meet Jazzy! Hi there—I’m Jazzy! I got my name because of my fabulous, fluffy, jazzy hair. I’m a sweet, affectionate girl, around 2–3 years old, and a unique mix of Great Pyrenees and Border Terrier. Basically, I’m a “mini Pyrenees”… and 100% adorable! I was recently rescued after being found with another dog near a very busy intersection. We had been fending for ourselves, scavenging for food, which really upset my tummy. The vet called it “Garbage Gut”—just a fancy way of saying my digestion was off from eating whatever I could find. Thankfully, with time, love, and a healthy diet, I’ve fully healed—no more tummy troubles here! Since my rescue, we’ve learned more about my past—and it hasn’t been easy. I spent my life being bred and living on a chain, never knowing the comfort of being inside a home. I show signs of physical abuse, but even with all I’ve been through, I’ve never shown a hint of aggression. When I’m scared or unsure, I just lie down and show my belly in submission. What I need now is a patient, loving home where I can finally feel safe and cherished. Despite my rough start, I’m doing my best to learn what it means to be a pet. I ride well in the car, walk nicely on a leash, and I really love being close to my people. In fact, I think I might be a lap dog! I always want to be near the ones who love me, soaking up every bit of affection I can get. I get along well with other dogs and seem to do just fine with cats, too. I’m still working on learning basic commands, so I’ll need a little training and encouragement—but I’m eager to learn and always want to please. I’m also not a fan of being left alone for long periods. If you're looking for a gentle, loyal companion who just wants to be near you—and maybe even in your lap—I might be the perfect pup for you.
