My story

Meet Romeo, the Himalayan! This soft senior boy has a history of living with other senior kitties. Staff have observed that although a little shy, Romeo is great for handling with our clinic team (he gets little check ups for being a senior kitty) and enjoys head pets. Typical to cats his age, Romeo has some medical needs typical to senior kitties. Adopters should anticipate more frequent vet visits (which can need above average resources of time, patience and money). Romeo’s adoption fee is reduced by $20 thanks to Shelley’s Angels – a fund that draws adopter’s eyes towards often overlooked senior cats in Shelters. Please note: Our Santa Cruz location’s Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end “meet and greets” (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If you’d like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them.
