My story

Welcome to Muttville, little tid-bit of a Chi, Stern Grove! We are so happy this teeny boy found his way to Muttville! Shortly after arriving, he was happy to let our staff stroke his oh-so-soft, oh-so-delectable-chocolate fur. At 14 years of age, Stern Grove has come to realize he's just plain irresistible. But he hasn't let it go to his head like some others he knows. He's quite at ease with his wonderfulness, and seems to take it in stride. For a while he was a little self-conscious about his snaggle tooth. But then a co-worker told him it adds character, charm and an air of mystery to his face! And his motto in life is, "A boy's got to retain an air of mystery." So now the toof is just fine with him! Alone time? - NO THANK YOU! Teeny Stern G. is a "people dog" for sure, and would love to go with you everywhere! And at 5 tiny pounds, he's the perfect companion! He's a little guy who will happily accompany you to the market, sit with you while you sip a Sangria at your favorite spot, take a walk in the woods or meander in the meadow. He'll be happy anywhere YOU are. If you're looking for that perfect little gem of a dog to share your life with, please come into HQ and meet this little guy. We know he will make your day! Here's some notes from his foster: Meet Stern Grove (aka Thumper): The Main Act of Cuddles & Charm! Like the music festival he’s named after, Stern Grove brings all the good vibes. This tiny chihuahua might be small in size, but he’s headlining the “Lap Lounging & Blanket Burrowing” stage daily. If you’ve got a lap, he’s on it. If there’s sunshine, he’s basking in it—often in the funniest little spot in the yard like he’s scouting for the perfect encore. Thumper (his original name, which he totally responds to!) is a pro snuggler, champion sleeper, and an undercover comedian who will make you smile with his curiosity and cleverness. He figured out the doggy ramps to our couch and bed all on his own, but let’s be real—he’d prefer to be carried like the VIP he is. He’s potty trained, sleeps through the night, and is down for a chill ride in the car. He’s got a picky palate, but we cracked the code: a little chicken on top of his food = rave reviews. He gets along with other dogs (though he prefers not to share his food or personal space), and he’s said to be cat-friendly too. Stern Grove doesn’t love being left alone, but he handles it like a true pro—just a few sad whines and then he settles by the door, waiting for your triumphant return. If your idea of a perfect setlist includes kisses, couch cuddles, sunbathing, and a little four-legged shadow who adores you, Stern Grove is your headliner. Whoever adopts him is in for the sweetest show.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Stern Grove 13115, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
