My story

Dillon is Muttville's latest go-getter, this rambunctious senior has been going on little adventures since he walked through the door. He may be a senior, but Dillon has the energy and vigor you'd expect from a much younger doggo. While inside, he yearns to experience the great outdoors, so Dillon would be a great plus one for someone who likes hiking, going to the park, and otherwise enjoying all the outdoors has to offer. Dillon is presumed to be a beagle pittie mix, with a wonderful doggy smile and a constantly wagging tail. His enthusiasm is infectious, so his lucky family will constantly experience having their day brightened by a beautiful boy with lots of energy and joie de vivre. If you want the mutt equivalent of an espresso, come on down and meet with Dillon today! Here's some notes from his foster: Dillon is a loving ball of energy. He can walk tirelessly and loves the backyard. When left home alone, he whines for a few minutes and then settles down. He does his business outside – no accidents here. Dillon craves attention and will follow you around the house. He wants to be part of the family including sitting on the furniture. Dillon is so eager to please, and to be loved Dillon has no problem navigating stairs. He doesn’t beg for food, preferring to nibble on his own food throughout the day. He was calm during car ride today, but it needs work and would recommend either a crate or extra person in car with him until he gets more relaxed. Dillon prefers to approach new people initially and say hello to them first vs them approaching him. He likes to keep a bit of a distance between himself and other dogs when on walks and he is still trying to understand why dogs want to play. He's taking notes on what cues to look for! He's a curious mutt and wants to energetically investigate everything! Dillion knows how to sit and give a paw, so there must have been some attention at an earlier time. In the house, the only time he was reactive was when there was significant noise/activity directly outside of the house. He's a pretty good watchdog! When I first brought Dillon home my wife was away, so for their meeting I brought him out front and he took to her without any issue. They were pretty instant friends! We established trust pretty quickly at home, and there was never a time when he was aggressive or was at all a concern for my wife and me. He does follow me around constantly. In spite of his constant presence, I did find that he was accepting of me closing myself in another room to do my morning stretching routine. (It's not really possible to do floor stretching with him in the same room. He's all over you!!) Dillon sleeps through the night with no issue. I fell into a pattern of getting him out into our back yard first thing in the morning and he very cooperatively runs out, takes a pee, and heads back into the house. He doesn't do life at a stroll; he likes to gallop from one place to another. On one occasion, my wife left for a few hours and when she got home Dillon showed his ability to do some zoomies. He still has some great energy! Also, as reported by his prior foster, he is capable of sitting calmly during meals, which is really nice! Dillon is a very happy, energetic and loving mutt. He's really a great boy!

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Dillon 13064, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
