Meet Benny – Your Affectionate, Playful, Velcro BuddyAge: 2 yearsBreed: Lab MixEnergy Level: ModerateHouse-trained: YesGood with: Dogs Benny is a smart, cuddly, and endlessly loyal boy who’s ready to be your new best friend. This 2-year-old Lab mix is fully house-trained, knows all his basic commands—and then some—and is happiest when he’s near his person. He’s been described as “Velcro” for a reason: he loves affection, thrives on human connection, and gives it back tenfold.He enjoys exploring inside the house, playing with toys, and getting in a good game of tug-of-war or fetch. Benny doesn’t currently live with other dogs in his foster home, but he’s done well with dogs while he was in the shelter and during an accidental meet-and-greet with the resident pups of the citizen who found him, he did fantastic!Benny is crate-trained and settles quickly, though he may whine a bit when first left alone. He’s working on feeling more confident when solo and would thrive in a home where he’s not left for long stretches—especially one with a yard or a companion dog.He’s fantastic in the car, knows commands like sit, stay, down, come, paw, and kennel, and is learning to walk politely on leash. Sometimes he reacts to other dogs while walking, so he’ll benefit from continued guidance and a confident handler.From his foster:“Benny is affectionate, intelligent, and playful. He absolutely loves going on walks and will happily spend time chewing on any toy he can get his paws on. He’s a sweet dog who just wants to love and be loved. I truly believe he’ll be an incredible addition to the right home.”Benny would thrive in a home with an owner who understands how to support dogs. He’ll do best with someone who can offer him companionship, structure, and plenty of exercise—and in return, you’ll get a loyal shadow who’s always ready to snuggle and love.
