My story

Meet Chase An old soul in a young body Age: 4.5 years Breed: Retriever, Old English Sheepdog mix. Chase is the kind of dog who leaves paw prints on your heart with his delicate demeanour, soulful eyes and affectionate nature. He makes it impossible not to fall in love with him. He is truly an old man in a young body. He’s playful, smart, and incredibly loyal. Once you’re his people, he’ll stick by your side through thick and thin. Chase gets along beautifully with other dogs and even cats. He's especially charming off-leash, happily playing with dogs of all sizes. When the play gets a little too rowdy, Chase steps in as the self-appointed fun police, giving a bark or two to keep things in check—he takes his job very seriously! He is fully crate trained and would thrive in a home with access to a yard where he can chase balls to his heart’s content or just chill on the patio. Chase is a sweet & silly boy who is happy go lucky & a quick learner. He is a gentle treat taker He loves car ride (good with drive thru). Loves face cuddles & belly rubs. He is a people dog. He can be reactive with strangers. He is good around robot vacuum. Seems to love swimming & seems to be a good swimmer (ramp needed). Loves playing with his toys but can be protective over them. Taking balls away for fetch isn't a problem. Loves watching the fish in aquarium. Doesn’t like being touched on his paws. Pulls on a leash a little but showed high trainability as he stops when you say his name. Chase does have a few quirks: He can be leash reactive (as most dogs), when he feels protective of his family and he tends to resource guard high-value toys or bones. But don’t let that deter you—this boy is very smart and incredibly trainable with the right guidance. What he needs is a confident, patient, and loving home willing to set kind boundaries and help him continue to grow. Because of his resource guarding, Chase would do best in a home with dog-savvy kids aged 12 and up. Chase is a special dog looking for a special family—one that will appreciate his big heart, goofy charm, and unwavering loyalty. Chase is vaccinated, microchipped, has his flea, tick & heartworm prevention, is sterilized and will come with his medical booklet. Sometimes a dog takes a little more time to open up, you may see them showing more and more of their personality over the course of the first few days, weeks or even months! We don’t know all that they’ve been through before they were rescued, but they are so forgiving and full of love and it’s worth every tough moment in the end. Developing a trusting relationship with your rescue dog is the most important thing. Stability, patience, positive reinforcement and love are the most important things! Chase est le genre de chien qui laisse une empreinte sur votre cœur avec son comportement délicat, son regard expressif et sa nature affectueuse. Impossible de ne pas tomber en amour avec lui. C'est un véritable vieil homme dans un jeune corps. Il est joueur, intelligent et incroyablement fidèle. Une fois que vous êtes ses gens, il restera à vos côtés. Chase s'entend à merveille avec les autres chiens et même les chats. Il est plus charmant sans laisse. Quand le jeu devient un peu trop bruyant avec les autres chiens, Chase intervient comme ‘la police du fun’ en aboyant un ou deux fois pour maintenir l'ordre ; il prend son travail très au sérieux ! Il est dressé en cage pour la nuit et s'épanouirait dans une maison avec accès à une cour où il pourra courir après le balle ou simplement se détendre sur la terrasse. Chase est gentil, joyeux chien qui apprend vite. Il accepte doucement les gâteries. Il adore les promenades en voiture (surtout une surprise au service au volant). Il adore les câlins au visage et les caresses sur le bedon. C'est un bon chien de compagnie. Il peut être réactif avec les inconnus. Il s'entend bien avec l'aspirateur robot. Il aime nager et est un bon nageur (rampe nécessaire). Il adore jouer avec ses jouets, mais peut se montrer protecteur avec eux. Prendre le balle pour lui relancer n'est pas un problème. Il adore observer les poissons dans l'aquarium. Il n'aime pas qu'on lui touche les pattes. Il tire un peu en laisse, mais il démontre une grande facilité d'apprentissage et il arrête de tirer dès qu'on dit son nom. Chase a quelques particularités : Il peut être réactif en laisse (comme la plupart des chiens), lorsqu'il se sent protecteur envers sa famille, et il a tendance à vouloir garder ses jouets ou ses os pour lui. Mais ne vous laissez pas décourager : ce chien est très intelligent et incroyablement facile à dresser avec un encadrement approprié. Ce qu'il lui faut, c'est un foyer confiant, patient et aimant, prêt à fixer des limites bienveillantes et à l'aider à grandir. En raison de sa protection de ressources, Chase s'épanouira mieux dans un foyer avec des enfants de 12 ans et plus qui s'y connaissent en chiens. Chase est un chien spécial qui recherche une famille spéciale qui appréciera son grand cœur, son charme et sa loyauté. Si vous êtes prêt à accueillir un compagnon dévoué, aimable et joueur dans votre vie, Chase pourrait bien être le partenaire idéal. Chase est vacciné, identifié par puce électronique, protégé contre les puces, les tiques et la tics, stérilisé et accompagné de son carnet médical. Il arrive qu'un chien mette un peu plus de temps à s'ouvrir ; vous le verrez peut-être exprimer de plus en plus sa personnalité au cours des premiers jours, semaines, voire mois ! Nous ignorons tout ce qu'ils ont traversé avant d'être secourus, mais ils sont si indulgents et pleins d'amour que chaque moment difficile en vaut la peine. Développer une relation de confiance avec votre chien adopté est primordial. La stabilité, la patience, le renforcement positif et l'amour sont les valeurs les plus importantes !
