My story

***The first step in the adoption process is to complete the application at www.emmetcountyanimalshelter.org*** Meet Eli!  This young adorable scruffy dude was born in February of 2022.  Eli is an energetic and silly guy.  He can be a bit shy until he gets to know you and then its all paws on deck for some play time.  And who can resist his quirky little crooked teeth showing smile!!!  He has been going for leash walks like a champ with one of our doggie walkers and he walks right by any dog that is barking to get his attention. He is not a fan of car rides however (like really hates them!). Eli is currently staying at a wonderful boarding facility that helps us out when we are out of space.  Prior to that he was adopted for a short while, but he and the resident cat just couldn't work out their differences.  If you watch the video, you can see him approaching a cat in a curious and playful way and when the cat says he's not interested he stops and listens for redirection.  When he was staying with us as the shelter he didn't seem to care about cats at all.  With that said, he would do best in a home with no cats or perhaps a savvy and friendly cat that wouldn't mind his playful energy.  He is eager to please you when asked and has been picks up quickly on commands. Eli can get excited and bark so probably not apartment material but if you want to know if you have a boogey man, squirrel or mysterious shadow in the yard then Eli is your guy!  Eli has an interesting fur coat that is soft and wiry at the same time.  Some occasional brushing is about the only maintenance this guy will need.  Eli has been moved around a lot in a short amount of time and we really need to get this guy the best match we possibly can for his next place but he will need a soft landing with humans that are willing and able to give him time to get adjusted.  He picks up quickly on the vibe and he is a gentle sweet soul just looking for a place to call home. Eli is neutered, up to date on vaccinations and microchipped.  His adoption fee is $275.00    July 5, 2025, 8:00 pm

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Eli, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
