My story

Crime Tip 101 👮‍♂️ If you are going to call animal control and lie and say you found a dog tied to your fence, make sure your son doesn’t talk to animal control the next day and ask how their mom’s min pin she surrendered is doing 🤦‍♀️. Not a criminal mastermind family we are dealing with clearly. 🙄. But hey, at least she didn’t to pay the $10 surrender fee that they usually waive anyway in cases of financial hardship. 👍 Follow us for more tips on how to dump your geriatric dog and get away with it… Anyhoo, here’s Rambo. We didn’t find out his real name or any details from the liars unfortunately or why they decided to ditch this sweet old at this stage of his life. But he seems hard of hearing so at least it doesn’t matter that much to him. His unregistered microchip was sent to a now closed pet store back in 2008, so he may be as old as 17 🤯. But is still pretty spry for an old guy and bounces and dances for attention, and could pass for a mere 12. He has some suspicious lumps and bumps, had a couple sort of fainting episodes when he got too excited and we thought he died but then came back to life 🤷‍♀️, but eats great and is a happy guy who seems like he still has some life left in him and bloodwork didn’t reveal anything immediate really life threatening or failing. He may be a zombie 🧟‍♂️ and outlive us all or crash next week 🪦 , but we are hoping to find him a loving home for whatever time he has. He likes other dogs (sometimes a little too much still being unneutered 🐫… the hormones always seem to be the last thing to go in these old men 😆), loves to eat even with very few teeth, and goes into dead sleeps in soft beds and doesn’t wake up when you enter the room so you think he’s dead and have to make sure he’s breathing 😮‍💨 If you are a lover of elderly min pins, email njwoof@cs.com to meet this lovely old man! Since COVID-19, we are no longer holding our Sunday adoption events until further notice, but we are scheduling meet and greet appointments with a specific dog or dogs at our meeting spots in Northern NJ. To streamline adoptions, all communication before, during, and after the adoption process is done through email only: we have limited volunteers able to return phone calls. Submit an application from our website www.secondchance.petfinder.com to speed up the adoption process and email any questions to us at njwoof@cs.com. Please check your email regularly for next steps. All our dogs reside in foster care in Northern NJ until adoption and we do not have a central shelter location. We are a small all-volunteer organization focused on rescuing local dogs from area shelters, as well as accepting some surrenders and puppy mill rescues.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Rambo, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
