My story

Meet Snowcone 4—a gentle, thoughtful girl who`s blossoming more each day in her foster home. In just a week, she’s gone from shy and cautious to curious, affectionate, and eager to connect. Whether she’s quietly lying at your feet, wagging her tail in the mornings, or bravely exploring a new room, Snowcone is learning that the world can be a safe and loving place. This sweet pup has made incredible strides in a short time. She’s starting to figure out how to play—both with toys and her human—and even rolls over for belly rubs. She’s learning to redirect her playful mouthiness to toys, and sometimes she’ll seek them out herself when she’s feeling excited. It’s clear that Snowcone is not only smart, but also eager to learn and grow with a patient, encouraging guide by her side. She’s doing great with crate training and building a solid routine. Snowcone sleeps in her crate at night without complaint and will go in when asked, even without a treat—though she always gets one as a reward. She`s also making progress with house training and seems to anticipate her four daily walks. Pee pads are still available as a backup, but she’s on track to graduate from them soon.On walks, Snowcone stays close to her person and calmly observes the world. While she’s still getting used to sudden noises or fast movements, she recovers quickly with gentle reassurance. She takes comfort in her human’s presence, and although she’s not super cuddly yet, she loves soft head pets and quietly being near her person. She hasn’t ventured onto the couch but prefers her own comfy bed nearby, and she even seeks out alone time in her crate when she needs a break.Snowcone 4 isn’t quite sure about stairs yet—especially long ones—but she’s practicing on small outdoor steps and slowly building confidence. She’s food-motivated but even more motivated by praise and the bond she’s forming with her foster. Her quiet resilience and desire to connect shine brighter every day.Snowcone can be selective with dog friends and would benefit from slow introductions to any potential canine roommates. She’s eligible to return to BARCS for social sessions after adoption to help her continue building confidence around other pups.Currently thriving in a foster home, Snowcone 4 is ready to find her forever family—someone who will offer her the patience, routine, and quiet love she needs to continue blossoming. To meet her, please complete an application and email dogf

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Snowcone 4, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
