My story

Meet Tator – Your New Adventure Buddy (with a Heart That Needs a Little Extra Time to Shine!)Tator is a happy-go-lucky goofball bursting with enthusiasm and charm! This wiggly, tail-wagging pup is always ready for action, affection, and a tasty treat (or two… or five). From the moment you meet him, you’ll see his zest for life shine—he greets people with full-body wiggles, soft playful mouthiness, and a whole lot of joy.But beneath the goofy exterior is a sensitive soul who needs a slow and thoughtful approach to feel truly secure. Tator will require a long decompression period in his new home—this means limited visitors, predictable routines, and minimal new stimuli while he settles in. Sudden changes or overwhelming environments can set him back, so his ideal family will give him the time and space to build trust at his own pace.Tator would do best with someone who understands dog body language and can read his cues—he’ll let you know when he’s ready for more, and he needs a human who’s willing to listen. Once he bonds with you, though, he’s a total sweetheart and will happily share his fun-loving, affectionate side.Tator is a young, energetic boy who thrives on physical activity and mental stimulation. He`s no couch potato—he`s more of a hike-in-the-woods, jog-by-your-side, puzzle-toy-solving kind of guy. He’s super food-motivated (watch those countertops!), knows his basic cues like Sit and Down, and is eager to learn more. Mealtime is a big deal for Tator—he gets so excited he may eat quickly, so puzzle feeders or slow bowls are recommended. He’s shown polite curiosity when meeting other dogs and may enjoy a doggy sibling with a tolerant and playful nature. With cats, a slow, structured introduction is a must. And because of his excitement and bouncy energy, we recommend children 15+. If you`re looking for a fun-loving, smart, and snuggly pup who’s always up for the next adventure—but who also needs someone willing to go at his pace—Tator is your guy.Ready to meet Tator? Bring the whole family (and resident pups, if any) for a meet and greet—just be ready to let this special boy warm up on his own terms. The reward? A loyal, goofy best friend for life.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Tator, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
