My story

Meet Peter Patriot! Peter and his brother Richard (also available for adoption) were taken to Long Beach Animal Care Services after their owner passed away. Peter is 13 years old, weighs 62 lbs., and is such a hunk of love. He is vision and hearing impaired, but that doesn't keep him from enjoying life. Peter likes the company of other dogs, rides nicely in the car, walks well on leash, and loves every person he meets. When Peter joined a group of volunteers and other Frosted Faces on an outing at a coffee shop, he earned a rave review for being very well-behaved. Peter is currently on another adventure: a two-week Frosted Fling! It gives us the chance to learn more about him in a cozy home environment while he soaks up some extra love and attention. His Fling Mom reports: "Peter is settling in and starting to relax. When I first brought him home, he was understandably anxious as he was figuring out how to navigate a new environment. It's wonderful seeing him feel more comfortable. Peter loves to eat. I am working on trying to put a bit of weight on him, and luckily, he is happy to help with that endeavor! Peter is a good eater and not picky. I imagine we will see him filling out soon. Peter loves being near his person. He doesn’t need to be up on the sofa in your lap, but he does want to be in the same room with you. Peter is a very sweet boy that gets along well with other dogs. He has vision and hearing impairments is kind of klutzy, so he will bump into, step on, and get close to the faces of other dogs, and he will not be able perceive their reactions (body language, hackles raised, growling.). For that reason, Peter would do best with very chill, sturdy, and non-reactive dogs that will tolerate and be understanding of, his inability to nicely respect personal space. Peter did live with another dog, Richard (who is also available for adoption from Frosted Faces Foundation), with his previous owner. While he may appreciate having a four-legged family member in the home, he would likely do fine without one as well. A few of Peter’s favorite things to do: Go out for coffee or lunch Binge-watch TV Take in the sunset Snuggle in his bed/blankets." If you're looking for a loving and loyal companion, please email placement@frostedfacesfoundation.org to meet Peter.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Peter Patriot, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
