My story

Meet Agnes! Agnes is the sort of dog that bewilders us. We can`t understand how this total gem hasn`t found her forever home yet. This calm and gentle senior soul is ready to find a soft place to land and a heart to call home. Agnes came to us after her beloved person passed away, and while a relative estimated her to be around 10, she’s still quite spry and doesn’t act her age one bit! She`s sweet and sassy, still loves toys and has done well with kids.A noisy shelter was no place for a senior lady like her, so Agnes is now enjoying the comfort of a loving foster home while she waits for her forever family. She’s house-trained, crate-trained, and loves her daily walks with her foster grandparents—taking in all the sights and smells at her own peaceful pace. Agnes also rides beautifully in the car, settling right in for the trip (as long as it doesn’t cut too much into nap time!).She’s used to being part of someone’s daily life and clearly longs for that comforting connection again. Agnes would do best in a home without cats or small dogs.On her Dog Day Out adventures, Agnes completely stole the hearts of her volunteers. She’s polite and easygoing on leash, happy to stroll and explore without a rush. Her favorite part of the day? A well-earned cheeseburger treat, savored with pure joy and tail wags! Another volunteer described her perfectly: “Agnes is a go-with-the-flow kind of girl. She just seems happy to be here! We took her on a walk, and she loved getting to explore with us. If you’re looking to adopt a dog that just wants to be by your side, Agnes is your girl!”Agnes is a low-maintenance sweetheart who would thrive in a quiet home with a soft bed, a sunny spot to nap in, and someone who appreciates the simple joys of a loyal, mellow companion.
