I’m Sam, born April 13, 2019—a talkative and devoted companion with a heart as big as my curiosity. I’m not shy about speaking up; in fact, I have a way of letting you know exactly what I want with my chipper, sincere meows. Whether it’s a call for attention, a request for pets, or simply sharing my thoughts, my vocal nature is part of my charm. I’m a calm and easygoing guy who enjoys the simple pleasures of life—like chasing the elusive red dot from a laser toy, then curling up in a cozy spot to rest and recharge. My gentleness is apparent in every interaction, and I’m especially tender with those who take the time to understand my unique needs. You see, I navigate the world a little differently—I’m sight-impaired and have only one eye. This means I approach new spaces and situations with thoughtful caution, always aware and curious but careful. Doors and open thresholds catch my attention, and I’ll need a watchful guardian in my new home to keep me safe and secure as I explore. Though I’ve lived peacefully with cats and dogs in the past, the hustle and bustle of shelter life can be overwhelming. Here at Kitty Corner, I’m a bit more reserved and sometimes express my need for space with a soft growl and a dignified retreat. I don’t seek confrontation, just calm and respect. Because of this, I would do best in a serene home without outgoing or dominant feline companions. ' Due to my vision and sensitivity, a quiet environment without young children is ideal. I’m not a fan of long periods alone, so I’d flourish in the company of a retiree, senior, or someone who works from home—someone who can share gentle moments, quiet conversations, and steady companionship. Meet the #CatsOfGettysburg - Apply to adopt at bit.ly/AdoptFLR and we will help you find the purr-fect kitty for your family!  Visit dozens of our adoptable cats and kittens at our Kitty Corner adoption center 39 Queen St in historic Gettysburg PA on any Saturday or Sunday from 11am-3pm.  All of the cats listed are located in or near Gettysburg unless otherwise noted. Please note that while we work hard to keep our available cats up to date we also have many  that are not posted yet.  Adoption fees are $60 for adult cats and kittens over 6 months old, $100 for kittens (under 6 months) and $30 for senior cats (7 years+) to help cover vet bills for spay/neuter, basic vaccinations, testing, microchips and preventatives.  No cat will be officially adopted without being spayed/neutered and vaccinated (unless there are health risks in doing so).  We highly recommend adopting kittens in pairs and we do discount for double adoptions here to encourage it.   We are always in need of donations to help us continue to save hundreds of cats and kittens every year.  Visit bit.ly/DonateFLR for more info.
