My story

WHAT IS YOUR NAME? Hiya! I’m Remy! ARE YOU A BOY OR A GIRL? I’m a boy! HOW OLD ARE YOU? I’m about 7 years old as of mid-2025. WHAT BREED ARE YOU? French Bulldog HOW MUCH DO YOU WEIGH? I am the most darling little 22 pound nugget! WHAT DO YOU LOOK LIKE? I’m adorable, if I do say so myself. I’m mostly white with some dark gray spots and a big fabulous blockhead! WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO EAT? Funny you should ask… eating is my favorite thing to do! I get sooo excited when it’s breakfast or dinner time, I dance in circles. I’ll finish every bite of my kibble. I also love to receive little treats from my foster mom.  I’ve never turned down a snack, but my favorite treat is probably cheese.   WHAT KIND OF PERSONALITY DO YOU HAVE? I am a sweetheart. I just love everyone I meet, dogs or humans! I just want to be invited to the party. Don’t let my age fool you… I keep up with my much younger foster siblings at play time. I have a zest for life! DESCRIBE YOUR PERFECT DAY: That’s an easy question, because I am easy to please! When my foster mom works from home, I will lie right next to her feet and follow her around the house when she gets up. But when she goes to the office, I’m also great in the crate! My foster sisters and brother are so much fun to be around, too. When they want to play, I’m game! But I also love a good snuggle session when they are worn out. Are there going to be a lot of treats on this perfect day? WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE TOY? I don’t need a lot of toys (those are for little puppies, aren’t they?) but I’ll never turn down a Benebone!   DO YOU KNOW ANY TRICKS? I’m not one for tricks, unless knowing exactly what time dinner was supposed to be when my foster mom is late feeding me! I’m really good at that particular trick! WHAT SCARES YOU? Not much scares me. I’m an easy-going little guy. I’ll tell you a secret… there’s a pit bull in my house that is afraid of more things than I am! I think that’s pretty funny. HAVE YOU BEEN AROUND CHILDREN? I have not been around children yet. DO YOU LIKE CATS? Hmmm, I haven’t met any yet. What’s a cat? HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT OTHER DOGS? I love dogs! Big or small, I love them all! IF YOU COULD BE ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD, WHERE WOULD IT BE? Next to my human. I’m a very social guy! HOW IS YOUR HEALTH? Oh man… It’s good now, but I’ve had quite a year at the vet’s office! First, I am a heartworm survivor! After a couple months of treatment and strict crate rest, I am heartworm free! I also had difficulty breathing and a hiatal hernia, which caused me to regurgitate after eating. NorCal Bully Breed Rescue helped me get BOAS surgery to fix my breathing issues. The plan was that fixing my breathing would also help with my hernia, and it did!! I don’t regurgitate anymore, and I can breathe so much better! WHO DO YOU LIVE WITH IN YOUR FOSTER HOME AND WHO IS YOUR CLOSEST COMPANION? I live with my foster mom and my two foster sisters and foster brother: a Pit Bull, an American Bully, and a French Bulldog. I love my foster sisters and my foster mom, but I think my foster brother is my favorite! Maybe it’s because we are both Frenchies, so we are the same size (and the only males in the house), but we pal around together all day. WHERE DO YOU HANG OUT WHEN YOU ARE HOME ALONE? My foster mom puts me in my crate to keep me safe. WHERE DO YOU SLEEP? I sleep in my crate. DO YOU LIKE WALKING ON A LEASH? I do! I’m happy to go anywhere you go! DO YOU HAVE ANY “NOT SO GREAT” HABITS THAT WE SHOULD KNOW ABOUT? I’m not convinced this is a “bad habit.” but my foster mom is teaching me not to jump on people to great them. Hey, I’m small, so it’s my way of letting you know I’m here! But with some patience and consistency, I will get it. I’m a good boy! ARE YOU HOUSE TRAINED (DO YOU GO POTTY OUTSIDE)? Oh yes, I’m a big boy. I am crate trained, so when you take me outside, I know it’s potty time. I just need consistency and regular access to the potty area, and it’s all good. DO YOU LIKE WATER? I cannot swim, but I am good in the bath! Frenchies really aren’t meant to partake in water activities, so please keep me safe from pools or other bodies of water! WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT YOUR FOSTER FAMILY? I feel safe there and I have a routine. It didn’t take me very long to feel comfortable and let my true personality come out. I also love that there are other dogs to play with. They are so much fun; but I would be just as happy as an only dog. WHAT WAS YOUR LIFE LIKE BEFORE BEING BROUGHT INTO NORCAL BULLY BREED RESCUE? Oh, I think I blocked that out. I don’t remember a lot about my previous life. I ended up in a shelter somehow and thankfully NorCal Bully Breed Rescue took me in to help with my many health issues. I feel better than ever now, and I’m ready to start the next phase of my life with my forever family! Let’s do this! **REMY’S ADOPTION FEE IS $500** If you are interested in adopting REMY, please jump on our website and fill out an adoption application - www.norcalbullybreedrescue.org At this time, we are asking for adopters to be in the Sacramento and IMMEDIATE surrounding areas (which means Sacramento County, parts of El Dorado County and parts of Placer County). For more information on what that means and why that is, please click on the following link: https://www.facebook.com/333019703483910/posts/3264412130344638/?extid=0&d=n Thank you so much in advance!
